SRH FEST 2019 Recap
Published 8/24/2019 | By SRH Staff
Saturday's SRH Fest turned out to be one of our most memorable in recent years. Being the first SRH FEST in three years and the very first on the beach, we didn't know what to expect, but were stoked to see such a positive day play out and to bring all our friends and family together, both new and old.
Before opening the doors at noon, we invited a group of 50 or so VIP attendees to the beach to capture a moment in time. Owner Kevin Zinger, Chucky Chuck and the Mix Mob all gathered with the VIPs on the beach for an epic group photo that meant so much to us. After more than 25 years, the dedication and support is humbling. Thank you to everyone that came out early to take part.
Following opening performances from SRH FEST contest openers Ernie D and Kyle Smith, our boy Big Body Cisco and Kendall Haze took over emceeing duties for another fun and classic SRH bikini contest. In the end, we felt it only right to crown not one but two winners. So, congrats to our girls Ruby Renegade and Harley Piston for becoming co-Miss SRH 2019.
There was a lot of SRH and Sub Noize history gracing the stage too. Both Mix Mob and OPM reunited and rocked the stage for the first time in years; Chucky Chuck killed his first ever SRH FEST set, bringing out the DGAF crew and reuniting with Gillies for classics like "Knuckle Up"; Tomorrows Bad Seeds brought the beach vibes; Taxman came out for some spoken word that brought us all back; Jahred and (HED) P.E. unexpectedly reunited with DJ Product; Kottonmouth Kings rocked a nearly hour-long set, bringing back those old school vibes; and Opie and the boys from Long Beach Dub Allstars closed out a perfect day on the beach.
Even with all that, one of our favorite moments of the day was when Pakelika's mom came out on the stage to introduce the Kottonmouth Kings, bringing everything back full circle and honoring our fallen homeboy. RIP Pakelika. We miss you.
Thank you again to the entire family, from the VIPs to the bands to the staff and to our all old and new friends who came out to the beach to party with us... SRH POR VIDA.
